Update Desk Phone Caller ID

 This is your semesterly reminder to submit a request if you need the name on your phone caller ID to be updated. Note that the Naming convention is Last Name First Initial (ex: Musal R).

Did you know that you can get your voicemail messages directly at your email inbox? By setting up voicemail to email, you never have to login to the voicemail system to check messages again. To setup voicemail to email now, fill out this form.

Weekend Phone Outage

 ITS was made aware of a global phone system outage late Friday January 3rd. Once we were made aware, we started troubleshooting working with our support partner. The issue was tracked to a Session Border Controller (SBC) that had gotten locked up and needed to be rebooted. The issue was resolved by noon Saturday January 4th.

Leo, Higgins & GPAC Network Outage Affecting Phones & Card Access As Well

To the Manhattan University Community,
During the Christmas Holiday, we relocated our data center from RLC to the Leo building. Unfortunately, unexpected delays with Fiber have caused the network in the Leo and Higgins buildings to be offline. Some items include WiFi in those buildings, some phones, network connections, etc.

We are hopeful that the fiber will be delivered today / tomorrow and the building will be online by Wednesday morning.

Sorry for any inconvenience this is causing, and thank you for your patience as we try to resolve this situation.

During the break ITS worked diligently to move the data center from RLC to Leo. Due to a shipping delay of fiber cable there is a network outage affecting Leo, Higgins and GPAC. This outage also affects phones and card access to the aforementioned buildings. As we are waiting on fiber cabling we do not have an ETA on resolution.

Network Issue Affecting Phone System

Update 9/13/24 3:23PM: Outage resolved. All is working as per normal now.

 We are aware of a network issue that is also affecting the phone system. Some VOIP phones will not work until this is resolved.

Email Server Outage Affecting Voicemail to Email and Scan to Email

Update Monday July 29, 2024 8:19AM: This issue was resolved over the weekend. All services are back up and running. 

 ITS is aware of an issue affecting Voicemail to Email and Scan to Email delivery. We are investigating and will update when more information is available. Note that regular email is not affected.

Voicemail to Email Outage

Update 6/28/24: Voicemail to email service restored. 

ITS is aware of an outage impacting Voicemail to Email. We are working to correct this. 

Emergency Maintenance of Telephone System 6PM Tonight

Update: Maintenance completed 6:30PM 6/24/24

In order to resolve an issue with the phone system, service will be suspended at 6PM. We expect the service to be down for an hour.

Voicemail System Maintenance April 2, 2024 5:30PM

Maintenance completed by 6pm 4/2/24.

ITS will be performing maintenance on the Voicemail System at 5:30PM today.

Voicemail System Outage

We became aware of a voicemail outage today and restarted the service to fix it. Voicemail is now back up and running.

Telephone Maintenance Monday March 25, 2024 5:30PM

Update 3/25/24 5:40PM: Phone system maintenance is now complete.

ITS will need to perform maintenance on the phone system at 5:30PM tonight March 25. The phones will be inoperable for a few minutes while the maintenance is completed.

Phone System Maintenance Monday March 18 5:30PM

Update 6:01PM 3/18/24: Maintenance completed. 

 ITS will need to perform maintenance on the phone system at 5:30PM today. The phone system will be down for a few minutes.

Telephone Time Not Updating for Some Phones

Update 9:11AM 3/13/24: I confirmed with New Era support (Phone Company) that they had to manually fix the time in some systems. They are working on a program to automate this in the future as had been done in the past.

Update 12:18PM: Affected phones are starting to show the right time.

ITS is aware of an issue where some phones do not have the updated time. We have submitted a ticket to our phone support company and will update you when more information becomes available.
