ITS: Google Drive Security Update

ITS would like to make you aware of a new Google Drive security update coming soon. 

Beginning on September 13, 2021 Google will be applying a new security update to some of your shared files. This means that if you have shared a file with someone and they have not yet opened it, after September 13th they will need to request access to it to view it. This may cause an increase in access requests. Those who have already viewed the files will still be able to.

Network Maintenance - July 30th from 9am-11am

Update: This maintenance has been completed as of 10:40 AM.

In order to ensure a high quality of service and to prevent service outages in the future, ITS will be performing maintenance on some of our infrastructure equipment. We'll be performing this maintenance on Friday, July 30th from 9am-11am. This maintenance will cause an outage on some services, such as Remotely, Banner, and VPN access.

COMPLETE: Lee Hall - Brief Network Outage - 7/28/2021 at 930am

UPDATE: This generator test has been completed.


Physical Plant will be conducting a generator test in Lee Hall on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. The generator test will commence in Lee Hall at 9:30am.

There will be two brief outages, one while switching to generator power, the other while switching back to main power. Both wired and wireless will be affected during this generator test.

Only Lee Hall will be affected during this generator test. This will not affect the rest of campus.

New Feature: Change your background in a Meet on your smartphone or device

You can now change your background in a Google Meet when you are on your smartphone or device! 

Google has announced the roll out of this new feature for both Android and Apple operating systems. To download the Google Meet app for Android OS, click here and to download the app for Apple OS, click here.

Planned Outage - Administrative System

Dear Colleagues,

Information Technology Services will be upgrading the Oracle Database starting July 16th at 6:00pm - July 18th. This will require Banner and related applications such as Self-Service to be offline during this period.

Wifi has been restored to most of campus. We are working to restore wifi completely. 


ITS is troubleshooting a campus wide wifi outage affecting all of campus.

WIFI outage in Smith Auditorium - 7/8/2021

UPDATE: ITS was able to replace the failed equipment early Friday afternoon and wifi access has been restored in Smith Auditorium. 

ITS is aware of a wifi outage occurring in Smith Auditorium only starting at 7/8/2021 at 319pm. There has been some equipment failure and ITS is currently working with our vendor to replace the faulty equipment.

Wired connectivity is not affected at this time. Wireless throughout the rest of the campus, including in the chapel, is also not affected.

TeamDynamix Email Outage

TeamDynamix, our ticketing system, had an outage yesterday that caused a delay in email delivery.  The outage has since been resolved by TeamDynamix and all is operating normally.  We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.
