Client Services Improved Telephone Response Time

The ITS department continues to improve upon our level of service.  We worked hard to increase the amount of Client Services Technician coverage this semester.  Also, due to the Telephone Upgrade we were able to implement the ability to call all Client Services locations at once.  The pairing of these two initiatives has allowed us to guarantee an improved response time to requests made via x7973.  Click here for more information.

Thin Client Technology
Not to delve too deep into specifics, but the Thin Client technology is pretty interesting.  These mini computers are fairly low powered machines that are capable of running some robust software.  This is possible through application virtualization.  All processes like Excel and PowerPoint run on Manhattan College servers and display on the Thin Client as if they were running locally.  With application virtualization, you can reduce the cost of computer hardware upgrades because all of the processing power needed for future apps is required of the server not the Thin Client.

Adobe Software - Customer Security Announcement

Last week, an Adobe blog post detailed a security breach.  2.9 million customer records may have been compromised.  Is your Adobe account one of them?

Please note that this was a breach of Adobe corporate systems, not Manhattan College.  Neither JasperNet accounts nor campus systems are affected by this breach.  You will not be affected if you have used Adobe software on campus or at home.  This notice applies only to persons with user accounts with Adobe.com.
What should you do?

First, don't panic.  Especially if you have never interacted with Adobe.
If you have an Adobe account (e.g., acrobat.com, Creative Cloud, etc.) then, change your password.
