Changing the Default Order of Apps in the Google App Launcher


The app launcher in the Google Bar makes it easy for users to quickly access Google apps like Drive, Gmail, and Calendar. Savvy users can even customize the launcher to place the apps they use most at the top and the apps they visit less often at the bottom.

We want to make the app launcher more convenient for new users and those who don’t take the time to customize it. To do this, we’re introducing a new default order for apps in the launcher, which will more prominently feature commonly used apps like Gmail, Drive, and Docs. This new order will appear on Tuesday, August 1st.

This new layout will only go into effect for new users and those who haven’t already customized their app launcher. If a user has already reordered the apps in their launcher, he or she won’t see any changes to the apps’ order on Tuesday, August 1st.

Keep Control of Your Jaspernet Account... Make Sure that Your Personal Email is On File!

We want to make sure that your correct personal email address is on file so that we can verify your account when you are not on site. This is critical if you are troubleshooting Jaspernet account access remotely.

Google Drive Outage 10/9/15

There is currently an outage of the Google Drive System.  Google is aware of the outage.  When the issue is resolved, it will be listed on the Google Apps Dashboard.

Remember that should you ever notice an issue with a Google service, you can check the status of that service at the Google Apps Dashboard.

This outage is affecting Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

UPDATE 5:30PM 10/9/15: Issue resolved by Google.

Drive: Accessing your Google Drive via "drive.manhattan.edu"

The ITS department is working to make your Drive more accessible than ever before. You can now access your Drive by simply navigating to "drive.manhattan.edu" in any browser:


If you're already logged into a different JasperNet service, you will be brought directly to your Drive. If you have not authenticated yet, you will be brought to the expected JasperNet login page.

Give it a shot! Open a new tab in your browser, type in "drive.manhattan.edu", and then press enter.
