COMPLETED: [Maintenance] Planned Network Upgrades - All Buildings - 06/28/25

Update 06/28/25 08:24:52: Maintenance has been completed


To enhance network reliability and stability across campus, ITS will be performing critical upgrades to network infrastructure on Saturday, June 28th, between 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM. This maintenance will impact both wired and wireless connectivity across campus buildings.

During the upgrade window, network access in buildings will be temporarily unavailable. To minimize disruption, maintenance will be conducted sequentially, one building at a time. The expected downtime for each building ranges from 20 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the complexity of the required updates.

Leo, Higgins & GPAC Network Outage Affecting Phones & Card Access As Well

Update January 9, 2025 2:58PM: 
We believe that all services have now been restored. Please report any issues you may experience and we will work to resolve.

To the Manhattan University Community,
During the Christmas Holiday, we relocated our data center from RLC to the Leo building. Unfortunately, unexpected delays with Fiber have caused the network in the Leo and Higgins buildings to be offline. Some items include WiFi in those buildings, some phones, network connections, etc.

We are hopeful that the fiber will be delivered today / tomorrow and the building will be online by Wednesday morning.

During the break ITS worked diligently to move the data center from RLC to Leo. Due to a shipping delay of fiber cable there is a network outage affecting Leo, Higgins and GPAC. This outage also affects phones and card access to the aforementioned buildings. As we are waiting on fiber cabling we do not have an ETA on resolution.

Network Issue Affecting Phone System

Update 9/13/24 3:23PM: Outage resolved. All is working as per normal now.

 We are aware of a network issue that is also affecting the phone system. Some VOIP phones will not work until this is resolved.

COMPLETED: Upcoming Network Maintenance: 02/20 Miguel Hall 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Update 02/20: The maintenance has been completed.


Tomorrow, February 20th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, ITS will conduct vital maintenance on some of the networking equipment in Miguel Hall. During this period, there will be temporary disruptions to wired connectivity in few select offices within Miguel Hall. Please be aware that the majority of wired connections, classrooms, along with WiFi, will remain untouched at this time.

Update: Campus Network Outage - 11/16

Update: 11/17 4:30 PM: ITS will be conducting a short test on our network tonight at 9:30 PM. This test is expected to last for 20-30 minutes, during which our network will be unavailable. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience on this matter.

Update 11/16 2:44 PM: Network stability has improved. However, please be informed that ITS will be conducting maintenance on our network tonight, 11/16, starting at 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. During this time, the network will be temporarily unavailable.

The campus has been experiencing intermittent network disruptions due to challenges faced by our mainstream internet service provider. 

ITS is actively addressing and monitoring the situation to ensure a swift resolution.

Miguel Network Maintenance - 10/28 - 6AM - 8AM

UPDATE 6/28 7:50 AM : Maintenance Completed


In order to maintain a safe, secure, and reliable network, ITS will be performing maintenance on our network infrastructure in Miguel Hall. This will occur on Saturday, October 28th is expected to last from 6am to 8am. This maintenance will cause the wired and wireless networks to be down during the duration of the maintenance period.

Miguel Hall Network Outage

Update 12:36PM 10/17/23: All Miguel network issues are now resolved.

Update 11:40AM 10/17/23: A second piece of equipment failed and is being worked on currently. We expect the issue to be resolved within the hour.

Update 10:40AM 10/17/23: The original outage was caused by equipment failure due to a steam pipe leak. This outage was repaired by 10:40AM.

We are aware of a network outage currently affecting Miguel Hall. We are working to restore network access as quickly as possible and will update here when information becomes available.

PLANNED NETWORK OUTAGES 6/20-6/22: Hayden, DLS & Leo

UPDATE 6/22 7:04 PM: Maintenance has been completed. Network connectivity in Leo Buidling is restored.

In order to improve network reliability throughout campus, ITS will be conducting upgrades on network equipment that services the campus. The maintenance will occur on 6/20, 6/21 and 6/22 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. During the maintenance windows, some network services in the following buildings, including internet access, scanning, and printing, may be unavailable.

Thursday 6/22: Leo

During the maintenance window, some network services in Memorial Hall, including internet access, scanning, and printing, may be unavailable.

Network Outage

Update 10/26/21 8:42PM: The network outage is over.  The issue has been resolved.

Update 10/26/21 7:52PM: We are still working on the issue.  The outage is only affecting North campus.  There is an issue with the link between the two campuses.

 ITS is aware of a network outage affecting multiple buildings.  We are currently investigating and will provide an update when we have more information.

ITS will be conducting emergency maintenance in the RLC datacenter tomorrow September 18 beginning at 8am. 

There will be sporadic outages of several services including:

Banner, Onecard, door access. 

Gmail and Google services will NOT be affected.

Network Outage

As of 12:46PM the issue is resolved.  Our Internet Service Provider (ISP) resolved the issue.

 We are currently investigating a campus wide network outage.  We will update the community as more information becomes available.

Network Outage

The ITS networking team was able to quickly trace the root issue to an important piece of Network Hardware that is functional, but aging.

8:44AM 6/24/21: Issue is resolved.  Network service is back to normal operation.

8:40AM 6/24/21: ITS is aware of a network outage that may be affecting some services as of 8:35AM Thursday June 24, 2021.  We are working diligently to investigate and correct the issue.  We will provide further information as it becomes available.
